Your Best Years, Tobacco Free: A Free Health Presentation at Aster's Senior Centers

Your Best Years, Tobacco Free: A Free Health Presentation at Aster's Senior Centers

It's never too late to quit — and this October, Aster Aging is partnering with the Maricopa County Department of Public Health to prove it. Join Tobacco Free Specialist Tami Freed for Your Best Years, Tobacco Free, a free, eye-opening presentation showing how living tobacco-free can add vitality, health, and years to your life, no matter your age.

What You'll Learn

Whether you've never smoked, quit years ago, or are still working on it, this session has something for everyone:

  • Why it's never too late to quit. Nicotine products affect the body at every stage of life, and the health benefits of quitting begin almost immediately — even later in life.
  • The dangers of secondhand and thirdhand smoke. You'll learn how tobacco exposure affects not just smokers, but the people and spaces around them.
  • Your rights as a non-smoker. The presentation covers what protections exist for non-smokers in shared and public spaces.
  • Free tools and resources. Walk away connected to no-cost support for quitting or helping a loved one quit, along with tools to stay tobacco-free for good.

And yes — there will be prizes!

When and Where

This free presentation will be offered twice in October, once at each Aster Senior Center:

  • Thursday, October 8 | 10:00 – 11:00 am — Red Mountain Senior Center, 7550 E. Adobe St., Mesa, AZ 85207
  • Thursday, October 29 | 10:00 – 11:00 am — Mesa Downtown Senior Center, 247 N. MacDonald, Mesa, AZ 85201

Both sessions cover the same material, so attend whichever location and date works best for your schedule.
