That’s why Aster, in partnership with AZCEND and the Tempe Community Action Agency, has launched a creative and compassionate solution: the East Valley Senior Home Sharing Program.

A New Approach to Affordable Living

Home sharing isn’t the right fit for everyone. But for many, it offers a practical and empowering way to maintain independence, reduce costs, and find companionship.

Our program is inspired by proven models from around the country. It thoughtfully matches older adults to share housing, creating arrangements that are both financially sustainable and personally supportive.

How It Works

The process begins with a comprehensive intake, including:

• Background checks

• Financial verification

• In-depth assessments to determine needs and preferences

We then provide personalized roommate matching to ensure compatibility and comfort.

Once a match is made and move-in occurs, our support doesn’t stop there. We offer:

• Ongoing conflict resolution and mediation services

• Continued case management and check-ins

• Access to essential wraparound services:

  • Help with benefits

  • Financial assistance

  • Nutritious meals

  • Transportation

  • Other senior support services
