This November, Aster is welcoming students from the University of Arizona College of Nursing to the Mesa Downtown Senior Center for a fun and informative series of health workshops. Each session covers a different health topic, and each one is a chance to learn something useful, ask questions, and spend a morning with your neighbors.
Workshop Details
Both workshops run from 10:00 to 11:00 am at the Mesa Downtown Senior Center and are held in person.
- Wednesday, November 4: Preventative Screenings
- Tuesday, November 17: Preventing Falls
About the Presenters
The workshops are presented by students from the University of Arizona College of Nursing. Learning from nursing students is a great way to explore health topics in a friendly, approachable setting, and it connects our Senior Center community with the next generation of health care professionals.
Workshop One: Preventative Screenings (November 4)
Staying on top of your health starts with knowing what to ask about. This session will focus on preventative screenings, giving you a chance to learn more about the role screenings play in staying well and to bring your own questions along.
Workshop Two: Preventing Falls (November 17)
Falls are a concern for many older adults, and awareness is a strong first step. This session focuses on preventing falls, and attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about the topic and ask questions in a welcoming, supportive setting.
