Every screening starts at 12:30 pm, and free popcorn is provided, so all you need to bring is yourself (and maybe a friend or two).

Mesa Downtown Senior Center shows movies on Thursdays, and Red Mountain Senior Center shows movies on Tuesdays. Be sure to RSVP by phone, email, or in person to secure your seat — these showings tend to fill up fast.

Mesa Downtown Senior Center (Thursdays)

September 3 | Disclosure Day | 2026 | PG-13 Director Steven Spielberg returns to the alien genre that made him a household name with this ambitious 2026 thriller. A cybersecurity expert (Josh O'Connor) steals classified files proving that the government has known about extraterrestrial contact since the Roswell crash — and finds himself on the run from a powerful corporation determined to keep the truth buried. Meanwhile, a Kansas City meteorologist (Emily Blunt) begins experiencing strange, unexplainable visions that connect her to the fugitive whistleblower in ways neither of them understands. As the two race to expose the truth to the world, they discover the stakes are even higher — and stranger — than they imagined.

September 10 | Fire in the Sky | 1993 | PG-13 Based on a real and widely publicized case, this eerie sci-fi drama follows a logger who vanishes without a trace after his coworkers witness a strange, blinding light in the night sky. When he reappears days later, traumatized and unable to fully explain what happened to him, his small Arizona logging community is thrown into suspicion, fear, and disbelief. Equal parts mystery and psychological thriller, the film is best remembered for its harrowing, unforgettable depiction of what the missing man says he experienced.

September 17 | E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial | 1982 | PG One of the most beloved films ever made, Steven Spielberg's classic tells the story of a lonely boy named Elliott who discovers a small, stranded alien hiding in his backyard shed. As the two form an unlikely and deeply touching friendship, Elliott and his siblings work in secret to protect their new friend from the government agents searching for him — all while racing against time to help E.T. find a way to phone home. Equal parts heartwarming and thrilling, it's a story about friendship, wonder, and the extraordinary bond between a boy and the most unlikely of companions.

September 24 | 2001: A Space Odyssey | 1968 | G Stanley Kubrick's landmark science fiction epic spans the entire history of human evolution — from the dawn of humankind on the African plains to a mysterious discovery on the moon that sends astronauts on a fateful mission to Jupiter. Aboard their ship, the crew's onboard computer, the eerily calm and sentient HAL 9000, begins to make decisions of its own, setting the stage for one of cinema's most iconic and unsettling confrontations between human and machine. Visually stunning and endlessly thought-provoking, it's widely regarded as one of the greatest films ever made.

Red Mountain Senior Center (Tuesdays)

September 1 | Disclosure Day | 2026 | PG-13 Red Mountain kicks off the month with the same gripping alien-conspiracy thriller showing at Mesa Downtown — see above for the full synopsis.

September 15 | Casino Royale | 2006 | PG-13 Daniel Craig steps into the role of James Bond for the first time in this sleek reboot of the iconic spy franchise. Newly promoted to 00 status, Bond is sent to take down Le Chiffre, a ruthless financier who launders money for terrorist organizations around the world, by beating him at his own game: a high-stakes poker match at the Casino Royale with millions on the line. Along the way, Bond falls for the enigmatic Vesper Lynd, a partnership that will test both his skill and his heart. Widely considered one of the best Bond films ever made, it's a sharp, stylish return to the franchise's roots.

September 22 | The Bucket List | 2007 | PG-13 Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman star as two men from very different walks of life who meet as roommates in a hospital cancer ward and form an unexpected friendship. After receiving a terminal diagnosis, the pair decide to make the most of the time they have left by drawing up a "bucket list" of everything they've always wanted to do — and setting off together to check it all off, one adventure at a time. Funny, moving, and ultimately life-affirming, it's a story about friendship, living fully, and making peace with the time we're given.

September 29 | The Naked Gun | 2025 | PG-13 Liam Neeson takes on the role of Lt. Frank Drebin Jr., the bumbling but big-hearted son of the legendary Frank Drebin, in this hilarious revival of the beloved police-spoof franchise. After his aggressive tactics get him pulled off a case, Drebin Jr. and his partner are assigned to investigate what looks like a routine car accident — but the case quickly spirals into a wild conspiracy involving a tech mogul, a mysterious device, and a plot that could bring down Police Squad for good. Packed with slapstick chaos, sight gags, and plenty of laughs, it's a loving, goofy tribute to the franchise's original spirit.
